Veterans
Elks pledge “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”Elks will never forget to show gratitude to our veterans. We honor our nation and our Flag. In 1907, the Elks designated June 14th to be Flag Day and in 1949, under President Truman, who was himself an Elk, Flag Day became a National Holiday. Navasota Elks is serving our homeless veterans with the Welcome Home Initiative with Welcome Home Packs to assist homeless veterans in transitioning into housing. We provide services and cooperate with our local Veterans Hospitals with programs including monthly Bingo, cook outs for Holidays, and collaborate with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts to provide companionship and treats for the residents of our VA.
Veterans Retreat
Navasota Elks proudly provide a Veterans Retreat twice a year and encourage veterans to apply. All expenses are paid by the Elks and Veterans can stay at our Children’s Camp in Ottine Texas for fun activities like fishing and fellowship. Get involved with something bigger than yourself.
